Restaurant management necessitates a user-friendly gui that impresses customers. Order mediation and high-speed processing are difficult tasks. Restaurant Configuration

We will download the Point of Sale app from the app store and then create a Point of Sale after it has been installed.

Enter the POS dashboard, go to Configuration > Point of sale.

For the given POS, we can add information and customize the parameters. There will be an alternative to allow this as a Restaurant or Bar below the POS name.

By selecting this option, you will gain access to additional features that are exclusive to this category of POS. A fork and spoon would be used to indicate the extra functions.

We may change the settings in the tab to fit our restaurant's requirements.

Manage floors and tables

To manage the floor settings and arrange the orders from the tables, we may connect floors and tables. We will support the floors and tables in the POS GUI. This would bring up the option to install more floors.

We will build tables for each floor after the floors have been added. Attach the table, chairs, and form to the floor settings.

We will open the interface until the restaurant's floor plan has been designed. Before saving the settings, double-check that the floor plan you just built is connected to the correct POS.

With the edit button on the POS interface, we can further edit the floor plan.

The tables can be repositioned, and new tables can be included directly in the interface. We will be able to add new tables, repeat, rename, and alter the shape of existing tables using the settings. The tables can also be deleted.

Register table order

By selecting the table from the floor plan and clicking on it, we can register orders for that table. After that, we'll be taken to the order window. The billing elements may be added to the order, as well as the amount and the number of visitors.

Transfer order

In certain cases, the customer can change the tables after the order has been placed. When the consumer moves, we move the order to the new table to prevent any misunderstanding or miscommunication. To move the order to the new table, we can use the transfer button on the main interface. Simply pick the new table you want to change the order to by clicking on move.

Register simultaneous orders

By going to the floor plan and clicking on the new table, we can create a new order. The table is also included in the catalog of commands. From the floor plan in the session, we can then navigate between instructions.

The order will be active on the table till it is processed for payment. 

Bill splitting for orders

When dealing with restaurants, we can make the possibility of splitting the bill open to the customers. The splitting method is made easier with Odoo POS by adding the option to the billing gui.

The guest and split buttons will be available now that bill splitting has been allowed in the setup, and we can add order lines for each guest and process them one by one.

If the guest's invoice has been collected, the outstanding items will appear in the accounting and we will be able to charge them to the other guests one by one.

Print bill before Payment

Before the invoice is accepted, we will print the order's bill. This can be accomplished by allowing bill printing in the setup.

The new smart button Bill will be added to the POS interface and we can print the bill. 

Print orders at kitchen

We will print orders from the kitchen table to add consistency to the orders and bind the front end of the restaurant to the kitchen. From the connected devices in Configuration > Point of Sale, enable Order Printer

The printer must be connected to an IoT Box and then configured in the database. The printer can then be added in the area given.

Once the printer is attached, we can use the POS interface's order button to print them in the kitchen.

Add a tip to payment

Customers can turn their change into a tip if they wish. This can be achieved through the POS setup. We should add the tip as a product after allowing Tips in the restaurant POS setup.

Once the setting is enabled we can, we can add the tip to the bill while processing the payment. 

The tip amount will be part of the final amount the customer has to pay. 

Add notes 

Add Notes can be activated to allow the waiter to add notes to the order lines. This will allow you to add special directions and comments from the customer about the things you've ordered. Restaurant orders also include calls for items to be made less spicy or to be free of any ingredients, among other things. Customer loyalty will be jeopardized if these directives are not followed.
